If you have lost a pet...

Visit your local Humane Society and/or animal control office every day. Due to the large number of animals in their care, a phone call may not be good enough. In Columbia, the Central Missouri Humane Society is in the same building with Animal Control (616 Big Bear Blvd., off Rangeline).
Be aware that CMHS will hold animals that are found or brought in for five days before releasing them for adoption or taking any other action. During this period, the found animals will not be in the main adoptable area, so be sure to let a staff person know that you are looking for a missing pet. Keep checking daily so that if your pet is brought in, you don't miss him or her during that five-day window.
Columbia Second Chance works closely with CMHS, and is very unlikely to have a lost animal that has not already been through the waiting period at CMHS.

To aid in your search, Columbia Second Chance will post a free listing in this lost and found section for you. Please email stephdes@mchsi.com with your phone number, description of your pet, and the area it was lost from. Include a photo if possible.
