Aspen is doing great!
I just wanted to send you a note to let you know Aspen seems to be doing great here. Jake and I are crazy about her and have really enjoyed having her around this week. Our fence was completed Wednesday afternoon so she has had a fun time running around in the back yard. My mom and her boyfriend came over on Wednesday evening to meet Aspen. They brought over a few toys that their dogs refused to played with; one being a tennis ball with a nylon loop through one end. Aspen has had more fun with that one toy. She has tossed it around and pounced on it as well as played fetch and tug with me.
On Saturday I took Aspen over to my mom's house for a play date with my mom's dog, Ashley. Ashley is a black dog my family adopted from a humane shelter in Phoenix about 7 years ago. She is about the same size as Aspen and a very fast runner; but very shy. I thought Aspen and Ashley were going to be great friends because they started running around my mom's backyard together. Ashley was chasing Aspen in circles when she turned the game around and started chasing Ashely. Ashley seemed to be running for her life so I broke the two of them up. Ashley was afraid of Aspen for the rest of the afternoon and wouldn't leave mymom's side! :-)
Anyway, Jake and I would like to thank you as well as the other people at Columbia Second Chance for letting us adopt Aspen. We love her dearly already!
