Lil Bear (a.k.a Honeybuns)

Honeybuns (8-month-old female cockapoo) was taken to a local vet by her owners to be put down because she had mange. After being treated gratis for several weeks by the vet (Noah's Ark), Honeybuns was then taken in by CSC.  After one more treatment, the mange was completely gone.

Honeybuns' new owner, Theresa Keatley, and her 10-year-old son, Timmy, drove to Boonville from Nashville, TN to take her home.

Why did Theresa drive all this way to adopt this dog? When she saw Honeybuns on Petfinder she knew she had to adopt her - she believed that she and Timmy needed Honeybuns in their lives and that Honeybuns needed them.

"Hello! How are you this fine day? Life is good here in TN. We are pretty sure we are going to call her Lil Bear since she looks like a teddy bear. She is so soft and cuddly after her bath. She slept all night in her "den" and no accidents. Took her out first thing this morning and she pottied and got lots of praise. I'm taking her out every two hrs. so I think she will get the hang of it real soon. She is sooooo sweet and loving. She gave me a kiss this morning and follows us everywhere we go so she is comfortable and trusting already. Think I got my Brownie points and earned her trust when I got her out of her nasty blanket she threw up on during the road trip. She is chewing on a rubber tire toy that Hunny Bear had all these years. Also, has taken to one of her squeaky balls and she will bring it back to you if you throw it. I am spoiling her rotten already. How could you not?"
