Rocky
"When I first started looking for another dog, it was so my little Brussels Griffon would have a playmate. All the dogs in the neighborhood were large and she didn't have anyone to play with. I looked at many dogs on Pet Finder trying to find one about the same size as her.
When I first saw Rocky's (aka Chub) picture, I knew he was the one for us. Greta, my first dog, was so happy when we got Rocky home. She brought out all of her toys, one by one, and offered them to him. He didn't want anything to do with them or her, for that matter. It took about a week for them to make friends. They are best buddies now.
Rocky is such a great little guy. I just can't imagine that anyone would toss him out like an old newspaper. He is smart and funny. He can sit, stay, beg, and will even give you five. He has never met a person or other dog that he doesn't like.
Shortly after I brought Rocky home, I decided to have my back yard fenced. It is now the dog park of the sub-division. Rocky and Greta get to play with the Cocker Spaniel, Charlie, who lives next door, and the Yorkie, Peanut, who lives on the other side.
My daughter and her family have moved into my house while they are building their new house across the road from me. So now we also have a Chihuahua, Bella, and a new baby who live with us. As you can see from the picture, Rocky is a good babysitter. He doesn't want the baby to cry and makes sure that someone gets up and checks on him. If we don't; he will.
I would encourage anyone that is thinking about bringing a pet into their lives to take a look at Columbia Second Chance. It was a 70-mile drive for me, but I don't regret it. Before you think about buying a puppy from anywhere, please take a look at the great dogs that need that "second chance" to find their forever home. "
